Metal, Leather & Shoe

Metal & Leather OrthosesEven as technology continues to advance, we still find these tried and true designs to be useful and effective means of correction in numerous cases. This is contingent, however, upon one’s ability to produce accurate, functional, and attractive devices. The technicians at Freedom Fabrication, Inc. have been doing just that for many years, and we know exactly what it takes to generate the type of orthosis you desire. This includes clean, accurate lines; finely finished metal work; and leatherwork you will instantly recognize as that of experts. We use only the best quality componentry and the finest hides available to ensure a device, which will serve your patients for years to come.

Leather Work

Leather parts fabrication is fast becoming a lost art, but at Freedom Fabrication we have worked hard to maintain the time-honored tradition of finely crafted leather components. Although we generally reserve our quality leather fabrication to new Orthoses, In some cases repair work is accepted. We use only the finest quality “orthopedic” grade vegetable tanned hides available. This quality leather will stand up to years of contact without stretching or losing its color. In addition to its longevity it is also the most hypo allergenic. While no leather is reaction free, it is well tolerated by patients in a wide variety of climates.

Leather substitutes

Please feel free to contact us about the use of cruelty free natural fiber leather substitutes. While these materials may not be as long lived as the animal based variety they do have a much lower environmental impact.

Shoe Modifications

Fine quality shoe work is critical to the overall appearance of a finished orthosis. Tightly inlaid calipers solidly attached, and lifts and wedges that appear factory finished. These things can make the difference between patient compliance and rejection. As with our leatherwork, our shoe work is generally limited to new orthosis production however in some cases repair work is accepted.
